Alma Route: Day 1, Afternoon, Alma's Private Room

"Alma's room was a standard single, located in the student quarters block."

"But then, considering the sort of people the students on this ship are, a member of the masses wouldn't think of it as standard at all."

"Although the rooms were all laid out the same, the arrangement of furnishings within them was left to the individual's discretion, and old items were never left behind by graduating students."

"From the wallpaper to the curtains, the girls all work hard within certain set limits to put their personalities and sensitivities on display."

"These girl's rooms are little pieces cut off from their castles -- they designate them as a part of their houses, places that match their upper-class rank."

"However none of that finery could be seen from the corridor."

Anri
"I want to speak with Alma Hamilton, so... if you're out here, would that mean that Alma's in her room?"

"Alma's attendant, Quincy Wells, didn't even acknowledge Anri's quip -- she just stood blocking the way like a wall of stone."

Anri
"Uuuum...."

Anri
"I want to speak with Alma, but if you're standing there, it'll be hard for me to reach the doorknob."

Anri
"I really can't understand why you keep standing there..."

Anri
"Thus, if you would move just a little bit to the right, it would help."

Wells
"...."

Anri
"...Are you listening?"

"Wells, who was by no means a heavily built person, protected the door to Alma's room like she was it's gatekeeper."

"Her manner of cold rejection made seem like a much greater obstacle."

Wells
"You seem troubled."

Anri
"I just want to speak to Alma, can't I even do that?"

Wells
"Nope."

"Was her curt response."

Anri
"Don't say that.... I've got something very important to tell her."

"Alma might possibly be the next victim in the incident."

"When she thought about that, Anri grew a little impatient."

"However, such concerns were truly useless with Wells mercilessly standing in the way."

Anri
"I am troubled.... That is, what I have to say is for Alma, but you would find it very important, too."

"She said cryptically, trying to somehow elicit interest from the other party."

"And yet, there was no visible change in Wells' expression."

*Choice: Wells-san, I...*

|give up.| |must praise you.|

(If you picked: give up.)

"Wells raised her eyebrows slightly. She seemed to be vaguely relieved."

Anri
"For the time being, I will try again another day."

Anri
"Say hello to Alma for me. See you."

"Anri's words didn't seem to reach Wells."

"Anri, seeing it was no use, walked away."

"Wells, one way or the other, means to make sure that Anri doesn't find a way to make her desire the meet Alma a reality."

(If you picked: must praise you.)

Anri
"Oh, Wells! You lovely dark madam!"

"Even Wells couldn't help but be startled when Anri suddenly raised her voice."

Anri
"Now, in this place, please permit me to applaud your unwavering loyalty. Oh nymph of the deep forest, I beg you not to close your ears to me."

Wells
"Anri-sama? I don't know what you intend by saying that, but flattery will get you nowhere with me."

Wells
"I would appreciate it if you would please cease these futile efforts."

Anri
"Thou! whose fidelity is matchless in Heaven or Earth -- wisdom from courage, beauty from ferocity, the figure whose sword protects maidens and their front doors like the watch dog of Hades, Cerberus!"

Wells
"...Cerberus?"

Anri
"No, just a moment. Watchdog of Hell, that's not beautiful at all. Yeah, that's not right. Take heart, for I shall begin once more."

Wells
"No, that's quite alright."

Anri
"--That glare as your name is slighted --that strong figure, is it not like the storied hero, Herakles?"

Wells
"Herakles?"

Anri
"Uh... no good, huh? No matter how I try to praise you, the adjectives are a long ways off from being beautiful."

Anri
"Is this some kind of curse?"

Wells
"Then you aren't making fun of me?"

Anri
"No way! What reason could I have to make fun of you?"

Anri
"But, its just that, I... umm, well, I'm not good at telling lies...."

"At this thoughtless remark, with almost no change in her complexion, Wells pointed down the corridor."

Wells
"Please leave."

Anri
"Right...."

"It seemed that Anri hadn't been paying much attention to her words."

"Anri, seeing it was no use, walked away."

"Wells, one way or the other, means to make sure that Anri doesn't find a way to make her desire the meet Alma a reality."
